FROM EAST LONDON WITH TRASH
By Odetta Graves
Odetta has taken it upon herself to take hundreds of pictures of the rubbish filled streets surrounding the 2012 Olympic site. She believes East Ham, Plaistow, Upton Park and Forest Gate have gradually gone down hill. Odetta acknowledges that there has been a dispute with the local council resulting in late bin collections, but she believes the bigger problem is the fly tipping and buy-to let houses which have attracted tenants who, she feels, do not take pride in the area. It's almost become an obsession taking the photographs and sending them to the local council but she feels something has to be done if the talk and dreams of regenerating parts of East London is to be realised.
