MONTY'S STRIPES By Peter Daniel When Peter was 10 he took a picture of his grandfather's uncle, Monty Daniel, to school for a history lesson which was about the First World War. Now, thirty years later he is working with school children to help them learn about the First World War and the importance of having memorials and remembrance for those who died but do not have a grave.
As an education officer for Westminster Archives Peter’s access to the archives has enabled him to put the pieces together of a mystery that surrounded his own relative Monty Daniel. Monty's story and three other soldiers from the First World War have been exhibited in an exhibition at Westminster Abbey called 'Not Forgotten' which was put together by Peter.
