| Trevor Rawlinson As small child Grandad Arthur (Dick to his friends) recalled the story of Ian. I wonder now if Ian remembers Neil, Keith and Ian, my father and uncles. Ian's story was, inpart, my inspiration for joining the RN as an artificer and later becoming an officer so many years later. It was lovely to see you Ian on the TV recently during the celebrations brgds Trevor. Alf Berrington An act of total heroism told in a matter of fact way. I suppose to us, today, you might have thought that both Mr Fraser & Mr McGuinness would have boatsed about their task. On reflection this was just a job for them that they accomplished in the way you would expect a serviceman of that time to have behaved. Let's hope that people like these two gentlemen are never forgotten by future generations drhead two very brave men |
