LOVE By Margaret Robbins Margaret doesn't know what people mean by "love", but she thinks that people need to like their partner. Her grandmother said "Marry someone that you can see the smoke from your own back door", meaning somebody from your own environment. Love means devotion to each other, looking after each other, but not jumping into bed with one another. She thinks that people jump into bed these days because there's very little love in the world. She couldn't get married again - she's been very lucky to meet Tom. She tries to do things that make him happy - perhaps that's love. Or perhaps, as Tom suggests, it's doing the washing up... we really don`t respect the opinion and thoughts of our elders and our youngsters - and both of these generations have so much to say we can learn from see a different side to our lives.
