I think Nick is absolutely right. Being a quite experienced walker myself, I have come across groups of completely unprepared people, often asking for my help or asistance. The Lake District and other places are beautiful however, they can turn very quickly and people shoud be prepared for every eventuality not just rely on mobile phones.
