TOURISTS By Nick Mortimer The only way of getting around in the Lake District is by car. There used to be a very good bus service, but not any more. A car is essential - without it you haven't got a social life. You're lucky if you can work in the village where you live. What can get you down is that there are folk on holiday who are driving slowly to look at the view, and this slows everyone else down, including people who might still be at work. The problem is that they don't seem to notice; they don't pull over. Perhaps drivers should re-read the Highway Code on entering the Lake District... Your thoughts about this video

| Fred So when you're on holiday, your family can expect you to zoom though it for the sake of the locals hu. Yea I bet? alan Give yourself more time to travel to work. The road is not a race track. Slow down and enjoy the drive. Keith Nice Cumbrian accent you have there Rob Where is the part in the Highway Code about pulling over just because you want to drive fast? What about the money the tourists bring to the area? |
