Phil remembers the long hours, the sound of alarms going off and the constant anxiousness he felt inside when serving in the first Gulf War. When he came back from the war, people were slapping the troops on the back and saying "well done boys". But rather than being happy about it he experienced a surprising feeling of emptiness...

Just had to say, that this isn't true Rain. The first gulf War was a reaction to the invasion of Kuwait and was justified - unlike perhaps the more recent hostilities.
