RACE
By Louise Muhammad
Louise Muhammad reflects on growing up as a mixed race child in Huddersfield. She never saw her own type of beauty, and thinks that today, many children are growing up with low self esteem. Never again is she going to let herself feel unimportant, and emphasises the importance of cultural identity.

Your thoughts about this video

LW
This video seems to capture a great lesson in terms of identity and acceptance. Everyone should be proud of who they are and what they are. Louise has learnt who she is and is proud of that. Wanting to fit in and striving to do so, are causes of many anxieties and problems in society today, if only we could all learn to be 'beautiful and valuable'!

JazzKwaku
I agree - identity is so important to everyone. Self awareness has changed to reflect popular opinion.
