PUPPETS By William Shirley William is performing a musical about war on Iraq - perhaps we think that's strange, but he thinks going to war on Iraq is an absurd, sick thing, so it's perfect material. William's losing his pride in Britain - bombing the people of Iraq and then sending them food aid is sick. This will just act as propaganda for terrorists and he thinks it's going to get worse. He wants us to think about the people that are taking us to war - it's in our name. He based the plot of the musical on a poem called "Said the General" by Spike Milligan... | Alf Hooker Saddam, Blair, and Bush are like the new Bee Gees. This musical is even better than Grease. Move over Travolta and Newton John cos Shirley is here to pave the way for new British comedy. Johnny Parcan ITS ALIVE! Its fantastic! Black comedy or a modern take on the current situation, or both? Who knows? All i know is that is great. Its visionary, its outrageous and its most definately British. We need to address the issues man. William has and is not scared. Why should he be? A mountain of inteligence made to look silly maybe? You could be as crypic as you like, but can't ignore the facts. Shirley=Genius. There hasn't been one since the great Freddy Fender. Is this the second coming? I'll be interested in finding out. Best of luck William. Out with the old and in with the Knoxville. Dave Beard You've got bottle, Will. I'll give you that. Like mixing Worcester sauce with Spaghetti Bolognaise. It shouldn't work, but it really does. I'd love to see more. Free the flower! J Moustache Its a cracker William. Its a great play, with some great ideas, close to the bone!
