Lunch On A Snowy Evening Upon rising my window blinds, I looked across the new falling snow. Oh, and what do I see, Why one or two vans and cars rocking in the snow. My! What a sight. Why even I parked by one last night. I had gone quickly out to pickup an evening dinner. I was on my lunch break you see. As I climbed out of my car when I returned with my dinner sack in hand, There was rocking and banging coming from a van. No, the motor wasn't running. No, the tires were not flat. But inside were matched couples, No, not fighting. But, they were coming close in bod, mouth, and hand, Inside on the mat. So, I went in to munch my dinner at my desk And view the new falling snow. What do I see going across the snowy lot? My manager striding quickly through the snow. Now, at the next meeting, the manager announced, "You should show up for business at work. You should really not do. What I may not tell you may not do. I am not able to talk about this at work; but, you all know, What it is you should not be doing at work. If you are caught on work time-you may be fired. If you are caught on break-you may receive a reprimand." And, I said, "It's the foot hanging out the door window That gives it away every time." Alas, my true regret on a snowy night is that I am not the one rocking and banging in the vans and cars On a snowy evening in the parking lot. B. A. White, Kansas City USA
