As Alan Shearer's incredible playing career draws to a close, we asked you for your favourite Shearer moments in a Toon shirt.

jon
LEGEND!!!

John Foster
Simply awesome. That's all I can say.

Gizmo
people say that Alan only won one medal in his time (at Blackburn) and so he made the wrong choice in signing for Newcastle. He could have gone to Man U, Madrid or Barcelona. But in signing for Newcastle he won us 70,000 fans a medal for every year he played. Thats what was important to him and the local players we have had at Newcastle.

ste
1 word 4 him is GOD !!!

Steve
Every single Goal from Alan's boot, or his head, has meant so much to every Geordie in the world. He lifted us when we were down, he boosted us when we were up, and the amount of lifelines he's thrown us in the last ten years is incredible. I watched him from his time at the Dell, to the last penalty of his career, and this man was special. A legend, a hero, a true King of black and white!

Coatesy

Lal
EVERY MOMENT!!! BECAUSE WHEN SHEARER WAS IN A TOON SHIRT WE KNEW HE WOULD DO HIS BEST TO ENSURE THE TOON WON!!!! There is no goodbye he will never leave our club!!! When when he isn't there, his heart will be, after all he's a GEORDIE!!! you can take the Geordie out of the TOON but you can't take the TOON out of the Geordie!! Although I still can't seem to think of SJP without Alan Shearer, it must have existed???? I cried last night, finally admitting that it had happened, he wasn't going to stay another year!!

TW
Alan Shearer is Newcastle and England

TW
best striker england has ever seen who will be missed and who will hopefully be future england and newcastle mangers

Craig Thomson
Newcastle united will only have one Alan shearer and it is typical that the final game he played in, he would score in. what a warrior what a legend

Craig & David
the first true number nine

craig thomson
absolutely brilliant. Noone will ever be better than big Al! thanks Alan for all your hard work pal!

Bishop!
One of the greatest English centre forwards consistently for the past 10 years. A true LEGEND! And what a penalty last night.

Thomas Bowden
Scoring that penalty against celtic last night

Craig Weatherspoon
Wheeling away after supplying the cross for Sir Les' goal in the 5-0 demolition of Man Utd, then mocking the away fans who he had turned down joining before coming home to Newcastle. Right then you knew exactly what the club and the No.9 shirt meant to him. Thank you, and goodbye - we will never see your like again.

Dan Hume top geordie
YOUR NOT ONLY A HERO.. YOUR NOT A SHEET METAL WORKER FROM GOSFORTH... YOUR A LEGEND!!! U WIL BE SADLY MISSED AL!!! HOPE UR INVOLVED IN MANAGMENT IN FUTURE!! WEL DUN!!

I will miss him so much, as will all Newcastle fans around the world. No words can describe how badly he will be missed and how happy he has made us all over the past 10 years. When he came on last night in his testimonial, a tear came into my eye as it was hard to imagine life without him. Thanks for 10 great years, you will always be rememered for being the greatest player ever to wear the black and white. Greatest moment....all of it!!!

Andrew Tan
He is such an amazing player. A true star etched into the Georgie folklore and our hearts

Andy Bennett
SHEARER IS GOD on EARTH

Gary G
I'm sitting here sobbing like a bairn......!! It'll be a long time until we see anyone like him again, if indeeD we ever do...!! THERE'S ONLY ONE ALAN SHEARER

Pud
Legend

lafaz
happy retirement shearer!!!

Garry.
All those people who go on about Shearer missing out on success miss the point. Which is better: To be chewed up and spat out by the Man U machine (van nistelrooy?, certainly Beckham) or to spend more than a decade adored by fifty thousand people. I know which option I'd take.

laura jolly
i think alan shearer has to be one of the worlds best ever strikers if not THE GREATEST because a)he doesnt cheat. b) hes an all rounder in a team. c) he scores amazing goals!!Does ANYONE DISAGREE?!

Nate-F
All the games all the goals, the ups the downs. He's been there and stuck it out. There's no two ways about it the mans a true legend. The end of an era, but hopefully it'll not be too long before Alan Shearer is involved in starting a new one? Almost brings a tear to my eye to think that I'll not see him stroll onto SJP in the black and white we all love. I'm just glad I am able to say "I was at his last home game"

Ron Kirkpatrick
We all know about Shearer's scoring ability, the record speeks for itself. What truly makes him great is his loyalty to his club. He turned down a lucrative and rewarding career with Manchester United, he gave up a glittering international career and the England captaincy, and he fought against a number of serious injuries in order that he could give his all to Newcastle United. He makes me proud to be a Geordie!

Simon
Putting his goalscoring record to one side, We must also salute Shearer as the perfect professional in this day and age of moneygrabbing, mercenary footballers he is the epitome of a never say die attitude and a tremendous appetite for work.Thank you Alan Shearer for your goals, selfless work and your attitude on and off the pitch, You have been a credit to the clubs you served, their fans and most importantly to the Newcastle region.

SD
I have nothing but the utmost respect for Alan as a player and a man. He has protected his family while at the same time being a living legend on Tyneside. I sincerely hope he stays with Newcastle and leads them to success. I don't believe for one minute that he will be able to stay away from the game for a year. Good luck Alan.

Dave, The Toon.
It cant be denied, Shearer is the most loyal player in the premiership. shrugging off Man U to come and play for his home team, his beloved Black & Whites. Thanks for 10 Amazing Years.

james king
alan shearer is a total legend he always gives 110% no one will be able to replace a great striker like shearer ive seen all his games and i wont have a better hero than shearer im sad that the injury against sunderland finshed his carer and i dont know who will be able to break his goalscoring record

Adam Lawson
Alan Shearer IS NUFC, he is one of the all time greats. A real gent and a model profesional. The toon will not be the same without him

Lez Toon
The legend that is Alan Shearer! Words can't describe the joy that this great hero has brought to NUFC. Apart from being a phenominal goal scorer he was a great all round footballer. His passion and commitment to the game and to NUFC was second to none. Here was a player that could have easily gone to Man United and in all probability would have helped them to win those elusive trophies that Alan is so deserving of. However, he is a Geordie and a proud one at that, yes i can fully understand why he chose Newcastle over any other team. As a fellow Geordie and i believe i speak for all Geordies worldwide, there is not another team that any Geordie would rather play for more than Newcastle. For him it was an easy decision and a right one too. Yes, unfortunately we did not win anything but Alan can say with pride that he played for his beloved hometown club for 10 years! He broke all records that were there to be broken, and he did that with aplomb. He is a true hero and a true gentleman. He will be sorely missed around here, in fact i have difficulty imagining life with out Alan. We all love you and wish you all the best. You are a true hero and deserving of the best in life. i wish you all the best!

Adam Marshall
One word - legend. St james will be a poorer place without you.

Chris
A true geordie, loyal to our city and to our club.He could have played for pretty much any club anywhere but he stayed on Tyneside for 10 years...That says it all.Favourite moment the 5-0 drubbing of Man Utd.All the best "Wor Alan" and thanks for the memories.

Dave Hughes
When I have children i will speak of Alan Shearer like my Dad does of Bobby Charlton, Dennis Law and co... Legend does not even come close to describing Alan Shearer!

peter

NUFC TIL I DIE
Alan Shearer the best ever Newcastle/English Striker ever to play football. A true legend on Tyneside and all over the globe where ever you go people no the name. Signed for what was then a record breaking £15m and at that time the best player in the world and wasnt it worth it. He will be deeply missed by not only every newcastle fan but by football in total aswell. Just sad we couldnt win any silverwear for ya AL!

Sammy price

Sean Grundy-Warr
My Favourite Alan Shearer Moment was when he led Newcastle to beat Manchester Utd 4-3

Sa
I am a Blackburn Fan, Shearer is a Legend. I think its shame that no one mentions his time, goals and league winners medal at Blackburn Rovers.

ricky rocke
SHEARER IS THE BEST

Thorolv Valentinsen (Norway)
Alan Shearer is the greatest NUFC player of all times. He decided to go home to the Toon, and he never left again. Alan went through thick and thin with Newcastle United, and for that we love him and admire him. He's a great lad!

Carlos Fabian Vidal
when alan shearer score 5 goals against sheffield wednesday

liam bathe
i think the win against man u 5-0 was the best ever game weve played i was only young about 6 but i remember the day well.

sean illingworth
there will never be a player like alan how was the best player i have ever seen all of the toon army fans will miss him dearly he is a true legand and my hero and always will be long live alan shearer

Em Richardson
Shearer is a legend not only a great striker, but team player and role model! You will be missed!

Sandra Baird
As an exiled Geordie living in Somerset I wish Alan all the best for the future. A great captain and someone who showed how to enjoy the game. His smile when he scored always made me smile too. A great ambassador and gentleman for the game of football, we need more like him

Andy Robinson
I met Alan on a couple of occasions through my good friend Andy Griffin. I must say that the man is an absolute hero and a credit to the sport that he has enjoyed during his career. There are not many people left with his ability sportsmanship and overall he's a gentleman on and off the pitch. I do hope that he recovers from this injury very quickly and ends the season with the club he loves on a high. God Bless you Alan

Russell Kerridge
Euro 96! Hearing all of England chant 'SHEARER! SHEARER! SHEARER!'

Shane Jackson
Shearer LEGEND ive supported this player all my life the reason why football come into my life because shearer made me love football. LEGEND. and for best moments theres many the great debut at st james park were he scored a great free kick against wimbledon but the list goes on for a great player

cheesehead
shearer has scored many brilliant goals but i think that his best was his 210th.

James Scott
All of Alan's goals represent his talent, but I like him for his brave attitude in a game. A perfect example was against Man U when Roy Keane threw a ball off Shearer's head, most players would have been on the floor crying by now, but Shearer looked him straight in the eye, and physced Keane out. Plus you could look at the recent game against Tottenham, when he sorted the unsporting players like Dawson and Robbie Keane out. Shearer is not just a striker, he stands up against the whingers and bullies of the game.

liam h
my fav moment was wen he finally broke jakie milburns all time Ultimate record we love u shearer it will be sad to see the end of your Fabulous carrer

Gareth Turley
I love Big Al. The best moment for me was when he scored the free kick against sunderland when we beat them 2-0. I was so happy i cried. But i also love it when he gets stuck in. Some people say he is dirty. But he is not. It is called passion and committment and thats what the fans want to see. Viva Big Al! He is a geordie legend

james blagburn
If football is a religion- Alan Shearer is God- Enough said!!!!!!!!!!!

Jasmin Little, Hebburn Comprehensive, Year 8 Q
dear Alan, You are, in my eyes, God. Now that you have made your mind up that you are leaving at the end of this season, it makes me sad. I have watched footbll for a very long time and been a Newcastle supporter since the start. My family will miss you very much and we hope you come back soon to manage us. I am doing an article about your greatness in PSHE. I have to go now, lesson has finsihed. bye.
