Your baby's name is special to you and it's really important to your baby, too. Hearing it makes them feel safe, and that's why we sing the Hello song!
Repetition is key. Your baby is starting to learn who they are and their name is a huge part of this. Singing or saying their name as often as possible will help them realise,"That's me!" Also, a big smile and a cuddle as you say their name will make your baby feel secure and loved. And if your baby smiles or giggles, copy them.
Taking turns and responding to your baby's sounds helps grow their language skills. Saying their name tells your baby that they're really special.
Your baby's name is likely to be special to you - but hearing it is very special to them too!
Giovanna explains why repeating their name and giving them a cuddle is great to help them feel special and understand who they are.
