Your midwife will probably tell you to walk around with the pregnancy book throughout the pregnancy, which is always, always, great advice because you never know when you’ll need it.

Yeah we kind of put a bag together, kind of anticipating – What's in the bag – the big moment. What was in the bag. It was comfort items. It was the things that you kind of talked about, the kind of pregnancy records and stuff. The bag was prepared so it meant that it was one thing that was off our minds

And I think it’s always best to get it ready, it’s just the basic necessities. I always say in the bag have a baby’s layer where you have nappies, baby clothes, hats, clothes the baby is gonna go home in and for the mum things like sanitary pads, uhm, nightwear, socks, hairbrush, toiletries disposable knickers yeah, and underwear.

Isotonic energy drinks are also good. Ones that are able to maybe replenish electrolytes within the body and also light high energy snacks is always going to be good just because, you know, a lot of women in labour maybe feel like they don’t wanna have like a big meal, like a carb-heavy meal or something like that. Uhm, so having quick accessible energy can sometimes sometimes give you just that little bit of something.
