Starring Caroline Quentin and Alexander Armstrong as husband and wife, Maggie and Phil, Life Begins was filmed in and around the city.

    Life Begins.
    Frank Finlay and Anne Reid

Shoppers in Market Place, pupils at Francis Bacon School and various local landmarks were all caught on camera for the series, written by Mike Bullen.

The programme follows what happens when Phil announces he's leaving Maggie - played by Caroline Quentin, star of Men Behaving Badly.

Property consultants Aitchinson Rafferty also tasted fame after leasing out two properties - on what used to be the Tabard premises in George Street and the old Barnardo's shop in Chequer Street - for filming for the series.

They have been filming today in the next road along from me.i only caught glimpse of one actor I recognise but it's driving me mad as I can't think what he's been in and don't know his name.Didn't see the last series so don't know if he was in that. He's very slim with fair hair and he's been in quite a few things. His hair's very short and he's probably about 40 something.anyone know who i mean. What's his name and what's he been in??
