PSHE KS1 / KS2: Imagine – Space Dreamers with Dr Ranj

TV presenter and medical doctor Dr Ranj invites you on a space adventure, using dream-like visualisations alongside dynamic and slower mindful movements to encourage a feeling of calm.

Pupils undertake dynamic movements such as star jumps, through to slower yoga-inspired poses such as moon and half-moon stretches, ending with a short guided meditation.

The video can be used to help pupils feel less anxious and stressed, having had time to themselves to stop, breathe and rest.

Being able to use our imagination is a powerful tool to help us see alternative possibilities.

    • One thing they are good at now.
    • One thing they want to get better at.
    • Decorate it with stars, moons, and planets!
  1. Space Breathing Journal
  • After the breathing exercises, children write a few sentences: "How did I feel before breathing? How do I feel now?"
  • They can add a drawing of their "star of light" floating in space.
  1. Dream Big Goal Sheet
  • Each child finishes these sentences:
    • "One dream I have is…"
    • "To reach my dream, I will…"
    • "When I doubt myself, I will remember that I can…"
