The Eagle and the Crown by Genevieve W.
It was a boring day at the palace. The Queen was sitting on her throne under the chandelier wondering what to do.Little did she know a pair of eyes was watching her from high in the chandelier. The eyes belonged to a creature who had a pointed beak, terrible talons and hundreds of fearsome feathers. The Queen closed her eyes when suddenly… the creature launched itself off the chandelier swooped down and took the crown right off her head! The Queen screeched "STOP THAT EAGLE!"The Eagle said "Run run as fast as a seagull, you can't catch me I'm a big bald eagle!"The eagle flew through the palace with the Queen chasing behind. They knocked over lamps in the hall, smashed through paintings in the ballroom until the Queen had him trapped in the kitchen"Now hand over that crown! ". The eagle was perched high up on a shelf "There's no escape for you."The eagles beady eyes spotted a large tray of eggs beside him on the shelf. Suddenly he started launching eggs everywhere. His talons were going so fast that his feet span in circles. The Queen dived under the kitchen table. As she did the clever eagle flew out of the window singing "Run Run as fast as a seagull, you can't catch me I'm a big bald eagle!"
Out on the street the people were busy going about their day, shopping, driving or walking their dogs when suddenly, everyone stopped and starred. They couldn't believe their eyes. For what did they see? A giant eagle, wearing a crown and following close behind was The Queen, they were both covered in eggs. The Queen was shouting "Help! Help! Stop that eagle he has stolen my crown!"
Soon there were hundreds of people joining the Queen chasing the Eagle. The eagle, who was very tired by this point looked behind to see what was going on when, SPLAT! He hit the side of a double decker bus and slid to the floor.
"Ah ha!" Said the Queen "Got you! Give me back my crown"
The eagle looked sad and said "No you can't take it. It looks nice on my head and it makes me feel important"
The Queen felt sorry for the eagle and said, "oh you don't need a crown to feel important" "everybody is important in their own way"
The Eagle gave the crown back to the Queen. Everybody on the street cheered. The Queen said it was the most fun she'd had in ages! The Queen and the eagle became good friends and the Queen let the eagle come to the palace whenever he wanted as long as he didn't touch any eggs!
There is a lot more to this story but we have run out of words so you can make your own story up to continue the adventure and remember everyone has their own way of being important. Also remember, don't throw eggs in palaces or steal crowns!
