The Night I Turned into a Jammie Dodger by Archie T.

I love Jammie Dodgers and one day, my Mum said to me "If you eat anymore Jammie Dodgers you'll turn into one!"

"Don't be so ridiculous", I said.

That night I went to sleep dreaming about Jammie Dodgers. When I woke up there were crumbs in my bed and something sticky on my pillow. It was Jam! Then I looked for my arms but I couldn't see them. I looked for my body but it was round and biscuity with jam in the middle. Then I shouted to myself "Oh no! Where are my legs. Maybe Mum was right. I am a Jammie Dodger!!"

I rolled out of my nice biscuity jammie bed and rolled downstairs but then the dog saw me. It chased me down the hallway and bit me but then when Mum came through the door she said "Bad dog. Bad!" The dog ran away into the garden and she put me in the bin. Luckily she forgot to close the lid. How am I going to get out? Then I had an idea. I bounced onto some slime in the bin and bounced out. Thank goodness I didn't get stuck in that bin forever.

My big brother saw me on the floor and said, "I'll put this Jammie Dodger into my room for later". He put me on the windowsill. The sun was shining bright and hot and it melted my jam! It started to pour down my body and onto the windowsill. It went onto my brothers bed. When my big brother came back in he screamed, Why is there jam all over my bed!. He ran off to get Mum to help clean up. Then my Mum said, "This is really not good. Who did it?". My big brother said, I don't know.

Very quickly I rolled off the bed and back down the steep stairs. I creeped outside through the open back door and nobody noticed me. I found a nice hot place to sunbathe on the patio. I had just dozed off to sleep when the sprinkler came on and soaked me. "Why did it have to soak me!" I got all soggy and I started to crumble. Then I went into a corner of the garden and cried for a minute. This day has been very hard. What if I'm a Jammie Dodger forever? I rubbed my eyes and went to sleep.

When I woke up I was in my bedroom in my bed. How did I get here? The crumbs had gone and the jam had gone. My hands were back and my legs were back. My body was back to normal. Maybe it was all a dream. Maybe I won't eat anymore Jammie Dodgers for a while and especially not eat 10 Jammie Dodgers in one day.

That afternoon Mum put out some Jammie Dodgers for a super tasty snack. She said she'd brought them for us as a nice treat.

"Well maybe one can't hurt … can it?"

Blue line.
