The Adventures of Nuggie by Rufus H.

In the supermarket there is a section in the freezer where you can find chicken nuggets. Chicken nuggets big, chicken nuggets small. Chicken nuggets smooth, chicken nuggets crispy.

Once a magician came with his cat, looking for his dinner. He thought 'I want some chicken nuggets.' But then his cat surprisingly leapt on him and meowed and he accidentally, struck the freezer with his magical wand. Mysteriously the magic blast went through the glass, through a packet and hit a chicken nugget and the nugget came to life!

First the chicken nugget thought, I'm going to call myself 'Nuggie.' He looked at the aisles of the supermarket and wondered what he would do for his first exciting adventure. He thought 'why don't I go and say hello to my new neighbours.' So he said 'hello' to a banana. The banana said nothing. Then he said 'hello' to a beetroot. The beetroot said nothing. Next he said 'hello' to an aubergine. The aubergine said nothing. He wondered 'why did nobody say hello? Maybe they have never seen a speaking Nuggie before and so they might be quite startled.'

Then Nuggie ran outside and got some planks of wood and cut them into the shape of skis. Nuggie found some lollypop sticks to use as poles. Then he went skiing in the icy mountains of the freezer! He skidded past some frozen peas, edged round some chips, jumped over fishfingers and zoomed down the icy icecube bags. But it was getting dark and he was tired out from an exhausting day. Nuggie had had a jam packed day of fun and it was night-time. He thought 'time for bed' and lay down on a frozen pizza.

After his sleep he woke on something flat with strange, curved edges. Then it started to get very hot, then he knew what it was… a frying pan! 'Oh no.' Loads of nuggets had come in and never come out. This is bad, very bad. 'Aaaarrrggghhhh!' Then his teeth started to chatter and his legs turned to jellies.

Suddenly his mind had a brilliant idea, 'yes!' Now this was the plan, every nugget had an emergency rope, so 'yes!' He lassoed the rope around a microwave handle and climbed. It was tough but he made it.

But 'Oops!' he tugged at it a bit too hard at the rope and it went flying off and got wedged in a chair. Oh no, a human heard and rushed in. Nuggie slid down the bumpy rope and crashed into a chair. He then ran outside and into a shed. Nuggie came out with a ladder that tripped the human up. He fell to the ground with a thud.

Nuggie raced back into the shed, put the ladder up to the light and got some DIY tools. He climbed up the ladder with the tools and turned the light bulb into a magical, super, amazing, spectacular plane.

Nuggie flew back to the freezer and relaxed in his snuggly packet.
