The Farmers Black Cat by Thomas S. J.

Once there was a farmer called Tim. Tim was a very nice man and he had a black cat. This cat was a fat cat. The farmer fed him tons of tuna because he lived next to the sea and had a fishing boat.

One day cat decided to go fishing with Tim. Tim wore a lifejacket but cat couldn't get one to fit him.

They set sail on the apple red boat. Cat was so heavy, the boat turned over. Tim floated in his life jacket, but cat sank. Cat continued to sink until he woke up at the bottom of the sea. To his surprise he could breathe underwater!

While admiring himself, a ferocious shark was creeping up ready to eat him - luckily a big blue whale was passing and rescued the cat by swatting the shark on the nose with his massive tail. Cat was amazed and said "thank you". The whale replied "you are welcome", "you should be more careful".

Cat asked "Can we be friends?" "Can you help me get home? I don't know how to swim".

The whale and cat searched for hours at the bottom of the sea, looking for cats home.

They decided to ask for help and spotted a parrot fish coming towards them.

"Excuse me Mr Parrot fish, can you help us?"

The Parrot fish replied "Can you help us, Can you help us"?

Whale tried again. "Which way is the beach?"

The Parrot fish replied "Which way is the beach, Which way is the beach?"

Whale gave out a big sigh, still puzzled where cats home was.

Suddenly, whale stopped. An idea was on the end of his enormous tongue.

"Cat, get on my back and stand across my spout", "I have an idea," said whale.

Cat positioned himself wondering what was going to happen.

Whale filled his spout with water. Once full, the whale fired cat into the air with one big blow.

"Can you see your house?" shouted the whale.

"Hurray, yes I can see it, I can see for miles from up here!"

Cat pointed his paw and shouted "land ahoy - full steam ahead".

Cat then asked "But how do I get up onto the beach?? Whale thought for a second. "Cat, sit on my tail".Cat gulped and with one big effort, whale flicked cat out of the sea and towards the beach.

"Bye whale and thank you" shouted cat as he headed towards the shore.

Cat landed headfirst into the sand, back legs sticking up in the air. Luckily Tim was on the beach and saw the wriggling legs. Tim pulled them with all his might, falling backwards with cat landing on his chest.

"Cat - you are back" Tim cried "Where have you been?"

"I am not sure you would believe me if I told you," said cat.

"Shall we go home for some tuna?" asked Tim

"I think I have had enough of sea food for a while," said cat "maybe just some milk".
