Mars' Bouncing Breakfast by Poppy S.

One day Daisy woke with a big thunder rumble from her tummy, she joined her Mummy, Daddy and little sister Petal in the kitchen for breakfast.

Daisy looked in the cupboard and shock filled her body from toes to nose "Oh NO, there's nothing for breakfast!" she said. There wasn't even one single croissant crumb in the whole house.

Petal asked if porridge grew on trees, Mummy suggested they eat leftover spaghetti and Daddy nearly fainted because there was no coffee either. Daisy knew the answer, because she is a problem solving, clever thinking machine. "Lets go to Mars for breakfast in my rocket"Daisy had been building a rocket in case of an emergency and this was an emergency. It was a large rainbow racing rocket.

They all climbed aboard their rocket, ready to explore a new planet but more importantly find food. Daisy sat in the pilot seat because she knew what all the buttons did.

Blast off! Earth was getting smaller as they flew all the way to Mars!

They landed in a glittery field with pink candyfloss trees, marshmallow bushes and chocolate mud. With their mouths hanging wide open, they said "this place is amazing".

As they left the rocket a friendly golden squirrel hopped over with an excited face. Daisy explained the mystery of their missing breakfast at home and that they needed a place to eat and squirrel knew just the place!

As they followed squirrel "How much longer?" wondered Petal's tummy then they finally arrived at a small welcoming cafe called …

They went inside and to their surprise instead of tables there were TRAMPOLINES!

Daisy said "Wowzers Trousers" at the magnificent sight. Squirrel showed them how to order. "Start jumping and then when you're at the right height, shout whatever you'd like. Like this"

BOING BOING BOING

"Peanut butter pancakes" shouted squirrel and…

Shhhuggatooong

Out flew a warm pancake from the kitchen which squirrel caught impressively in his mouth! Everybody was shocked then they started clapping and cheering.

Daisy went next she bounced confidently and at the right height she shouted with a clear voice "Chocolate Pancakes". A fresh warm pancake oozing with chocolate launched itself out of the kitchen, she caught it in her mouth. Her mouth was covered in chocolate and she smiled "That was a super duper out of this world amazing pancake".

Petal wolfed down a syrup pancake giggling as she bounced whilst Mummy happily ate a banana pancake. Then Daddy ordered his and by then he was very hungry, with big greedy eyes he shouted "THREE MASSIVE HONEY PANCAKES" and…

SHHHUGGATOOOOOOONG

The biggest pancakes ever flew out of the kitchen with speed and knocked him off his trampoline!!! "I'm ok" he murmured from underneath his pancakes.

With full tummies and happy smiles they said a big thank you and goodbye to squirrel and got back in their rocket.

"What's for Lunch?" asked Daisy as they arrived home.
