The Monster Who Changed His Ways by Chloe L.
Once upon a scary night, there was a monster. He had horrifying ears that were dead spiders and three red spooky eyes. He was gigantic with long skinny hands and claws. The monster liked scaring people all over the town. He did this by waiting. He waited for children going to school. He waited for someone to relax. He waited for people to go to bed. He waited for someone to drink a cup of coffee. He waited a bit longer… and suddenly he would jump out of nowhere! One day the monster got flamingo pox and lost his scariness. Flamingo pox is a terrible disease where monsters get chicken pox and grow pink feathers. Instead of saying 'boo', they go 'hauwwwk!' and tiny clown noses grow at the very tips of their big noses. They sometimes even get tiny clown noses all over their faces too.Whenever the monster went to the supermarket, he would hide in the broccoli section and when someone went to pick a packet of broccoli… he jumped out! But all they did was laugh. They laughed at him in the library, they giggled at him in the greengrocer, they tee-heed at him in the train station, they chuckled and chortled at him in church, and they mocked him in the museum. This went on for three whole weeks. Finally, the monster was feeling better. His nose was perfect, he could say 'boo' again, the tiny clown noses had disappeared, and the pink feathers were gone! The monster went back to scaring people, making them jump 10,000 times more than before he got flamingo pox. He scared a nurse at the hospital in the middle of the night. He scared a lunch lady so much that she dropped all the food on the floor. He also tiptoed to the people in the park, waited a bit longer…and jumped at them! But, while he was doing it, he missed the laughter. He became really sad. He realized that scaring people was fun, but making people laugh made him even happier. So, one day, he went to the end of town and bought some silly hats, some funny shoes, and a very big red clown nose. He also found a jacket, a t-shirt and a pair of trousers that were a bright orange with green polka dots. He came back jumping through the streets. He did the most hilarious dance moves. He made funny faces. He tickled children. He told all the jokes he knew making everyone giggle right out of their pants. That was the day when he became the laughing monster. For the first time in his life, he had lots and lots of friends. He made 10,000 people laugh at a party and his name was written on the cover of every newspaper. They could not stop giggling when the monster was doing the funniest things. Everybody absolutely loved him.
The End.
