The Blue Colony Superheroes by Zemira M. B.

THE BLUE COLONY Superheroes are a special force of cloak-and dagger fighters sent on a mission to save everyone; boy and girl, and mums and dads.

THE BLUES wear enormous scrubs with light blue jackets, shower caps for hats and windowless masks for protection. They live among us, but no one knows or sees their powers until we need them. Their assignment is to protect the human body from strange aliens known as body invaders.

I did not know about THE BLUES until I was part of their mission. One day, I was playing with my sister and brother when I felt something move inside my belly. My head felt fuzzy with ringing in my ears. I called my Maama but before she got to me, I had been pulled down to the floor. Something was after me. But what it was, no one could tell.

The next thing I knew, I was being whisked off in a rescue wagon dancing to the bumps in the road. Then came noisy machines, people talking fast and a strawberry smell that sent me to sleep.

When I opened my eyes next, the lights were brighter than the ones at home."Help, I have been captured." I remember calling. Then I saw Maama and Dada, phew! But when they came closer staring down at me with tired grins and watery eyes, I realised that apart from their normal faces, the rest of them had been turned into spiders. "Oh no, somebody helps us. We have been captured." I screamed. And it was then the room changed into the colour of a swimming pool, blue in every corner I looked.

A confused giggle got stuck in my throat as I watched my spider Maama and Dada shuffle along the walls to make room.

"Hello there," a masked face greeted me. We are THE BLUES, sent to save you from an invader who was after you." He said pointing at a group of with him "The naughty invader had made a camp inside your stomach. It looked like you had jelly in your belly - Wobble! Wobble!" We all laughed. "We had to put you to sleep as we wrestled with the naughty invader- KA-POW! KA-POW! It was a risky mission on a ticking clock, but we won! And the invader was defeated; yay!" The erupted in cheers. Maama and Dada waved their spidery legs and arms with joy.

To make sure that no invader was left disguising inside of me, THE BLUES gave me a special potion although one that run off with my hair.

But never mind the hair, lets shout HIPHIP HURRAY TO THE BLUE COLONY! The only superheroes brave enough to step up and fight for every human body, sending out a clear message. Body invaders be warned that you don't stand a chance! THE BLUES are on a mission to stop you whatever it takes.
