X Factor finalists announce plans to play the Regent

X Factor finalists Journey South have announced their first solo UK tour since signing their label deal. Look out for them at the Regent on Friday 19th September..

The brothers, who came third in the reality tv show, have signed with Syco Music / RCA Label Group and received an amazing response on the live tour of X Factor. Syco Music President Simon Cowell said, “Since Journey South first auditioned on the X Factor I knew that they had something special. They proved this over the live shows and I have confidence in the guys that they will go from strength to strength now and sell a lot of albums."

Journey South released their self-titled debut album on 20th March 2006 and is currently outselling superstar Prince's come back album by 4 to 1. The album is a mixture of old favourites and new material written by the duo. Several of the tracks were made famous by their spine-tingling performances on X Factor (including 'Let It Be', 'Desperado' and lead track 'The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face') and took them to the gripping Grand Final watched by over 9.3 million viewers.

Journey South are 30 year old former electrician Andy Pemberton and his brother Carl, a 25 year old former plumber from Middlesbrough. The duo come from a close-knit family and grew up listening to rock n roll and classic songwriters such as Paul Weller, John Lennon, and Bon Jovi. Five years ago Andy and Carl quit their jobs, bought a caravan on their credit card and embarked south. Their mission: to make it in the music business.

Carl Pemberton said, “Our album has just come out which we're really proud of, and then to announce our first headline tour is another dream come true. We're having a great time at the moment and just enjoying every minute".

Tickets are available via ticketmaster, or through the Regent booking office on 01473 433100.
