What is it that makes a friend a friend? Shared interests? Good character or- personality? Maybe a similar sense of humour, or perhaps something more grand like loyalty. A friend would probably possess all of these things
most of the time. Whatever your answer, it is the stuff that TV and film - and real life! - are full of always in your face
but rarely stated. Asking myself what makes a friend a friend? I reckon that if you have interests then that probably makes you more interesting and that is a healthy start in building a friendship. Thats how it was with J when I met him a couple of years ago a community-conscious funny-eloquent-northern-bloke with a liking for tea and tennis - versus my not-so-simple football day-tripper: quite the happy odd couple.
