"Can you tell me where your husband was on Thursday 10th August? Yes, my husband would have been at work. Could you tell me what this is all about?..." My name is Iris Wilcocks, 81 years old and living at Honeywall in Penkhull, Stoke on Trent. I'm widowed with one daughter; a son-in-law; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. I made nursing my career, but since retirement much of my life revolves around my church - I have been a born again Christian since the age of sixteen. While I enjoy painting, my real hobby is writing, especially poetry. This story happened to me about thirty years ago when I was working in Hartshill. It was one of three possible stories, but the only one I could tell in just two-and-a-half minutes. Inside Lives was so much fun and a completely new experience - I would not have missed it! Learning does not come easy at my age, but the team were so kind and patient with me. Using the computer was a revelation in itself. Fascinating!
