Reception and Internet access area

The reception area

Through the glass doors, the first thing you see is the main reception desk.

Just to the left of it, are the four Internet-linked computers that any member of the public can just walk in and use at any time (... well, OK, during opening hours).

A small team are based here to help people log on to the public computers (pictured left) and chat to them about the basic functions of these computers and generally about the Internet.
(Incidentally, we tried calling this a cyber-café area... and then somebody pointed out there was no cafe!)

For details, just ask Sheila...

Who's who around BBC Stoke HQ
Sheila Sims
Sheila Sims has been with the BBC in Stoke longer than she cares to remember. She sorts out reception duties and is the first face that any visitor sees, but she also does a lot more than that.
In fact, she's multitalented, with wonderful interpersonal skills, and she's twenty-one years old. She told us so.

Moving on swiftly...
Right, now, (no hanging about), it's time to pass by Reception Desk to the area beyond (which you can just see in the picture above) to the brand-new, dead nice Learning Centre area...
