The exhibition, which runs at the Potteries Museum until the 20th June 2004 traces the history of the ship from construction in Belfast through to her tragic maiden voyage to New York in 1912.
It showcases some very rare, original pieces including a life jacket, a deckchair, as well as a range of letters written by passengers on board.

Hanley man
Also showcased are details of passengers and crew members with connections to Stoke and its surrounding area - most famously, Captain Edward J Smith, a son of Hanley, and the most central of characters in the Titanic story.

You can learn of the fate of each who were on board the most luxurious and largest man-made object of its era on that freezing April night in 1912.

And what's more, the exhibition also includes exclusive images and film footage of the ship's resting place two-and-a-half miles down on the seabed and a family activity area.

Memories from the past
The exhibition, which has toured from Dubai to Bradford, is yet another example of the enduring myth of the liner, which has inspired a number of films - including Leonardo di Caprio's version in the 1990s.

Amongst hundreds of pieces on show, the key artefacts include: a very rare lifejacket - an original deckchair - letters written on board to loved ones - original telegrams - personal possessions of crew members - an unused Turkish bath ticket - original deck plans - a replica 8ft long model - an actual 3rd class menu which was slipped into the pocket of a passenger as she left the restaurant as the warning was given - and original newspapers from that time detailing the disaster and its aftermath day by day.

And, in detail, you can see and hear the heartrending tales of survivors and victims from the passenger list, which included the cream of British and American society and more than 700 third class emigrant passengers from over 20 nationalities.
