Cannock Wood

Cannock Wood is actually closer to Lichfield than the town of Cannock with which it shares its name. It is a mainly residential area which is set amongst some areas of outstanding natural beauty.

Strange Fact about Cannock Wood

It is rumoured that the ghost of a nun roamed a well in the village that had been capped some years previous. The poor dredger who saw her was spooked!

Another interesting fact about the village is the prehistoric fort settlement of Castle Ring that lies to the the North West of the village.
