Ashley in north-west Staffordshire is a small attractive village. The name 'Ashley' means the 'forest clearing by the ash tree'. The village has grown to be well populated with some well-adapted modern housing.

Funky Facts about Ashley

The town is also home to some historic landmarks.
The tomb of Gilbert Gerard and his wife is an impressive structure, and close to the Ashley Parish Church is a man-made mound which is rumoured to be the site of an ancient burial ground for Black Death victims!? Spooky!
