Longton's Bottle Ovens

Longton's Bottle Ovens

Longton

Longton - often the forgotten one (as well as Fenton) of the Six Towns. But it is where the small potteries are now to be found - so if you're after the real smell of the potbanks and incredibly cheap china shops, then this is the place for you!

Funky Facts about Longton...

It's well known as "Neck End".

Longton

It's also famous as the home of Owd Grandad Piggot. Of 'real' people born there, one of the most famous is the composer Havergal Brian.

One of the greatest of the country's cabaret/supper clubs of the 1970s was based here - Jollees.

As well as the smell of the slip from pottery factories, you will also get a whiff of toffee-making. Walkers Nonsuch has been based here since it started.
