Audlem

Audlem is a rural village miles from anywhere, with the Shropshire Union canal running right through it.... setting the scene for some great waterside walks. The nearest towns are Market Drayton and Nantwich.

Funky Fact about Audlem...

The great Billy Gibbons lives here. Billy's rock n roll show is fantastic; but he's better known for his obsession with 1950s sci-fi - he has a spaceship, er, stuck in the roof of his house!

Here's what some people had to say about Audlem...

Famous Things:

The village is apparently famous for its Proms on the Park musical event, its Transport Festival and the Audlem Music and Arts Festival, all held annually.

Phil begs to differ, saying: "Why should anything in Audlem be famous, in my view, its secrecy is one of the many things that make it a magical village".

Good Things:

Phil reckons "There are undoubtedly too many attractions in this beautiful village, the Shroppie (canal) with its 15 locks here stands out and so does the excellent Audlem Mill Canal Shop".

Bad Things:

Phil really loves Audlem - he says it's "very hard to pick out a bad thing about Audlem, I suppose the 4 main roads that lead into the place and meet at The Square, make it a bit noisy".
