Back at the scene of her greatest triumphs, Capriati goes for a hat-trick of Australian Open titles. In a thrilling final, she saved four match points on her way to defending her crown last year, and if Venus and Serena Williams are below par, Capriati will be expected to capitalise. The 26-year-old has not won a title since her victory 12 months ago but she finished the year strongly by reaching the semi-finals of the WTA Championships. However, she has not beaten either of the Williams sisters since getting the better of Serena at Wimbledon in 2001. That statistic could prove telling, as she is likely to have to beat one or both if she is to lift the trophy a third time. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
