Quins clinch late win
Harlequins Ben Gollings goes over for the match-winning score
Gollings goes over for the match-winning try
Harlequins 17-13 Leeds

A last-gasp try by winger Ben Gollings clinched a place in the last eight of the Powergen Cup for Harlequins.

With time ticking away and Quins trailing, back row Ace Tiata capitalised on his side's pressure to get behind the defence.

The ball was moved quickly left with a long pass from Will Greenwood finding Gollings who dived over unopposed for a sweet score.

I felt reasonably confident coming down the final stretch

Quins coach Mark Evans

Quins fly-half Paul Burke missed the conversion but it failed to dampen his side's celebrations.

Leeds made the better start with a Braam Van Straaten penalty giving them a sixth minute lead.

Van Straaten doubled their advantage three minutes later after Pat Sanderson was caught handling in the ruck.

Burke made it 6-3 with his second penalty attempt but Quins found themselves struggling when captain Andre Vos had to leave the field injured in the 20th minute.

We defended tremendously well but it was disappointing to lose in the dying moments

Leeds coach Phil Davies

Leeds picked up a loose ball and moved it quickly to full-back Dan Scarborough who evaded the challenge of Gollings and ran 50 metres to the try-line to score.

Quins piled on the pressure but some dogged defence by Leeds restricted the hosts to two penalties - with Burke cutting the deficit in the 55th and 72nd minutes.

It looked like Leeds would hold on until that final Gollings dive to the line.
