Connors completes Bath switch
Mark Connors leaps between two Maori players
Connors' arrival is a major coup for Bath
Bath have signed Queensland Reds lock Mark Connors on a two-year contract.

The 31-year-old will play his final game for the Reds against Fiji A on Sunday before tying up the final details of his move to the Recreation Ground.

Coach Michael Foley, who played with Connors at Queensland, is delighted to have captured his man after failing to sign Franck Tournaire and Leon Lloyd.

Connors said: "I have been speaking with Michael for the last month or so and I want to play for Bath. I need a different challenge."

Connors turned down a one-year extension to his current deal and also a similar offer from New South Wales Waratahs.

Appointment

And the former international knows his move will almost certainly cost him any chance of making the Wallabies' World Cup squad next year.

But he insisted: "I have no desire to play in next year's World Cup. I don't have to prove myself anymore."

Meanwhile, discussions continue over Bath's likely appointment as director of rugby.

Former England chief Jack Rowell is thought to be in the frame.

But he dismissed the speculation. saying: "I made the mistake of attending one Bath game and I haven't heard the end of it."
