Cardiff survived a first-half scare at Park Mawr before eventually overpowering Bonymaen.

The First Division side led 13-9 at half-time, but Cardiff hit back after the interval to run out comfortable winners.

Carmarthen Quins 8-13 Ebbw Vale

Ebbw Vale needed extra time before finally ending Carmarthen's spirited challenge.

The home side were only a few minutes away from securing a famous victory after a Barry Thomas penalty gave them an 8-5 lead.

But Ebbw scrum-half Brian Shelbourne kicked an injury-time penalty to level the scores and force 20 more minutes of play.

Flanker Paul Williams settled the contest five minutes from time with drive over try from a lineout.

Kati Tuipolotu had put the visitors ahead with a try early in the first-half, but that score was soon cancelled out by Carmarthen's Emyr Jones.
