Bridgend fightback floors Whites
Chris Horsman
Chris Horsman directs a Ravens drive at St Helen's
Swansea 9-16 Bridgend

A 65th-minute try from Bridgend tighthead Chris Horsman helped the Ravens to a comeback win at St Helen's.

The visitors trailed 9-6 at half-time as the boot of Swansea fly-half Gavin Henson was used to good effect.

The Whites held on grimly to their lead, but the kicking of Bridgend full-back Gareth Cull and the unlikely try-scoring figure of Horsman settled a dire game.

The win maintains the Ravens' 100% Welsh Premiership record and keeps them at the top of the table.

Match details:

Pens: Cull (3)
Playing against a strong wind in the first half, Bridgend were able to take the early advantage with two Cull penalties from in front of the posts.

Three Henson penalties for the home side were never going to be enough playing into the gale after the break.

Swansea were often pinned back in their own 22 by Cull's excellent tactical kicking.

It was from the constant pressure and a line-out inside the Swansea 22 that Horsman's forward-driven try came.

Scott Gibbs tried to inspire Swansea, but it was left to Cull to have the final say with his third penalty just before the end.
