The home side had fallen behind early on but rallied in the second half to claim a bonus point. Llanelli prop Martyn Madden was first on the mark, powering through for a try, with Stephen Jones making an awkward kick look simple. Leigh Davies also touched down, allowing Jones to double his tally before Edinburgh woke up. Martin Leslie was the first scorer, powering through after remaining detached from the pack. Brendan Laney converted from wide, atoning for two penalty misses. And he clipped over a penalty to narrow the gap to four points as Llanelli struggled to cope in defence. Even better was to come for the home side as they stepped up the pace after the restart. Wing Simon Webster capitalised on an Ally Dickson break to go in under the posts to give Laney a formality of a kick. Then Laney added three further penalties before further tries by Webster and sub Craig Joiner, the former converted by Laney, gave the home side a comfortable win.
