Phil Taylor begins his chase for an 11th world title at the Circus Tavern in Purfleet with a very special trophy up for grabs.

The first player to manage a nine-dart finish at the Ladbrokes.com World Championship will receive the Nine Dart Diamond.

Worth a six-figure sum, the diamond will be mounted in the bull's-eye of a championship dartboard as a unique prize.

Taylor achieved just about everything possible in 2002 - the World Matchplay, Las Vegas Desert Classic and World Grand Prix.

The Stoke ace also produced a magical nine-dart finish in Blackpool during the summer to put the seal on a fantastic year.

But Taylor, nicknamed "The Power", makes no secret of the fact that he wants to win world title number 11 and throw another nine-darter.

"I would love to do another nine-darter at the World Championship," said Taylor.

"To do two nine-dart finishes is my target now.

"And there is always a special thing about the World Championship.

"It does not matter if you play it in a tent, there is always something special about being world champion."
