Rowers suffer disappointment
GB eights who competed in last year's European Championships.
The eights have enjoyed past successes
The Great Britain eight have failed to qualify for their final at the World Cup regatta in Hazewinkel in Belgium.

The crew had finished fourth in Friday's heat and had to qualify through their repechage on Saturday.

They suffered another setback when Joe von Maltzahn, rowing at two, had to withdraw before the race with a stomach upset.

Substitute Chris Martin took his place in the boat.

The crew were well off the race pace, trailing the leaders by five seconds at the halfway mark.

They needed to finish in the first four to make the final but could never get back on terms with the pack and trailed in fifth behind Italy, Egypt, Croatia and Poland.
