McRae expects Rossi to shine
Vantino Rossi
Rossi was dominant in this season's MotoGP
Former World Rally champion Colin McRae believes MotoGP star Valentino Rossi can make a big impact in November's Network Q Rally of Great Britain.

The Italian has been drafted into the Peugeot team for a one-off drive in the event

And McRae, who saw Rossi record his 50th career GP win in Australia last weekend, felt the motorbike specialist would be a formidable opponent on four wheels.

"I hope I don't have to watch out for Valentino - that would be like me getting on his bike and keeping up with him!" McRae told motograndprix.com.

The Scot said he was impressed by the pace and skill of the MotoGP riders.

"I am a big bike fan, but looking at the MotoGP guys close up was a bit different," he said.

"Like anything, you don't realise how fast they are until you are close up."

After seeing Rossi take his 11th race win of the season, McRae was ready to offer his new rival some advice about rallying.

"Valentino has driven cars very quickly at Bologna and other circuits he knows.

"But when he gets into the Welsh forests at 100mph having never done it at full speed before the rally will be quite difficult for him."
