Australia 318-6 (50 overs) beat England 229 (48 overs) by 89 runs.

McGrath flew like a pigeon to remove Shah

Brett Lee finishes England off by bowling James Anderson and James Kirtley as Australia wrap up another comprehensive victory.

England were all out for 229 and also lost out on the bonus point, as they failed to reach 255, chasing a massive target of 319.

Australia earlier scored 318 for six off their 50 overs, with Adam Gilchrist and Ricky Ponting scoring centuries.

48th over: Australia win by 89 runs and deny England a bonus point as Lee clean bowls James Kirtley.

46th over: Bevan drops White off Lee at mid-on, but next ball the quick gets gains recompense by bowling Anderson. England 223-9 (45.4 overs)

45th over: White brings up his first fifty in one-day internationals, keeping England's hopes of a bonus point alive.

41st over: Lehmann skids a quicker ball through to Batty which catches the batsman unawares and crashes his stumps. England 208-8 (41 overs)

39th over: Blackwell becomes the third man to be run out, going for a single but falling to a direct hit from Gilchrist who scooted a few yards to gather the ball. England 203-7 (39 overs)

36th over: The incumbent pair keep the runs ticking over as they chase 255 to keep their bonus point.

34th over: White takes eight runs off Gillespie's over, bringing up the 50 partnership with Blackwell in the process.

32nd over: White takes full advantage of a loose ball from part-timer Martyn, delivering it to the extra-cover fence.

28th over: Warne collapses on his right shoulder as he tries to field off his own bowling, leaving the leg-spinner writhing in agony and carried off the field.

25th over: Watson produces a wickedly deceptive slower balls which removes Knight, who is through his shot by the time he plays it and is caught. England 131-6 (25 overs)

24th over: Warne is again hoisted over the ropes by Blackwell, keeping England's faint hopes alive.

22nd over: Blackwell gives an indication of his power, lifting Warne for six over long-on.

20th over: Knight's solo performance continues as he strikes his eighth boundary. Blackwell then gets an apparent edge off Warne but Australia's vociferous appeal is turned down.

18th over: Stewart sets off for a suicidal single and is shot down by Bevan at mid-on. England 92-5 (17.4 overs)

16th over: Knight loses another partner as Shah loses his head, advancing down the wicket and spooning a tough chance to the retreating McGrath. England 87-4 (16 overs)

15th over: Knight strokes a single to register his half-century from just 39 deliveries.

14th over: Warne makes an immediate impact to get rid of Hussain, the England captain dragging the ball onto his stumps in an attempted sweep. England 76-3 (13.5 overs)

13th over: Knight welcomes Lee to the attack by advancing down the wicket and thumping him through the covers for four.

12th over: Hussain joins the fray with a boundary off Gillepsie followed by a hook shot that yields three runs. The 50 partnership is realised off just 43 balls.

11th over: More runs for Knight as he hits McGrath for another boundary. The miserly paceman is conceding more than five runs per over.

10th over: Knight steers Gillespie past slip to the fine third-man fence to bring up England's fifty. The batsman drives another ball through the covers for three.

9th over: Knight hits McGrath for three consecutive fours, gorging on a rare wide delivery outside off stump before dispatching the next two balls past mid-wicket.

8th over: Knight miscues a drive off Gillespie that flies down to the third man fence, just beating the rapid advances of Lehmann.

7th over: Hussain cuts McGrath past point for a much-needed boundary.

5th over: Irani chances Watson's arm from deep extra-cover but falls well short of his ground. McGrath rather fumbles the ball as he dislodges the bails but the third umpire gives Irani his marching orders. England 16-2 (4.3 overs)

4th over: Trescothick gets a thick edge off Gillespie, guiding the ball to the safe hands of the diving Hayden at gully. England 13-1 (3.3 overs)

2nd over: England's run-chase is underway as Trescothick drives Gillespie through the covers for four.

1st over: McGrath begins with a maiden, zipping a bouncer past Trescothick's head for good measure.
