England succumbed to an innings and 48-run defeat in the third Test at Perth as Australia snatched an unassailable 3-0 lead.

Australia recently humiliated Pakistan and have not lost a Test series since crashing to a 2-1 defeat in India in 2001.

"I don't want to sound big headed about it but some of the victories have been a little bit easy. Some of the recent series have felt a bit hollow I must admit," Waugh said.

"We'd like to come up against a side that would really get stuck in and play tough test match cricket and make it really tough to win.

"India was the last tough one we played in and even though we lost, it was fantastic to be part of it and we felt very satisfied."

Waugh equalled Allan Border's Australian record with his 32nd win in just his 43rd match as captain.

The 37-year-old is the only member of either side to have played during England's last successful Ashes series, in 1986/87.

"After losing the first one, you can't be sure whether you'll ever be part of a winning side but to win eight series is beyond my wildest expectations," he said.

"I've been a part of some great sides and this one is certainly up there."

But Waugh admitted that he still wants to return to India to set the record straight before he retires.

"The ultimate goal in the back of my mind is winning in India but that's a long way off - it's 18 months away," he said.

"If there is one thing that would entice me to keep playing, it is to win in the subcontinent but that may be out of my grasp.

"But I don't want to consume myself with the thought of retiring. I want to go out and enjoy my cricket and at the moment I'm doing that."

Warne praises team

Australia's leg-spinning legend Shane Warne said he rated the current side as the best he has played in since making his debut in 1992.

"This is probably the best balanced all-round team that I have played in for all types of conditions," he said.

"I always thought Merv Hughes was a great bowler but Glenn McGrath is the best in the world.

"And players like Adam Gilchrist and Brett Lee have brought in something new since they broke into the side."
