| Pakistan accept England invite Pakistan had the upper hand against England in 2001 Pakistan are set to play a one-day international series in England at the start of next summer. England want to use the games as a warm-up for visits by Zimbabwe and South Africa, which include Test matches and a triangular one-day competition. "We have been invited to play three one-day internationals in England at the start of their season and we have accepted the invitation," said Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Lieutenant General Tauqir Zia. Dates and venues for the games are expected to be announced by the England and Wales Cricket Board in the near future. But Pakistan expect to make the trip following a scheduled home series against India, which is due to end on 20 May. That series is, however, in serious doubt because of the ongoing military tension between the two countries over disputed territory in Kashmir. Pakistan last visited England in 2001 when they drew the Test series 1-1 and then reached the final of the NatWest one-day tournament before losing in the final to Australia. Their next full tour is not due until 2005. | See also: 30 May 02 | Middlesex 26 May 02 | Cricket 20 May 02 | Cricket 17 May 02 | Cricket Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
