They improved their record to 4-0 in Tests since losing to Australia earlier this year as they overcame Sri Lanka by three wickets at Centurion Park. Pakistan are the next visitors to South Africa before Pollock's men concentrate on trying to win the World Cup on home soil. "We've played well throughout this series - I think we've dominated and we're looking forward to the Test series against Pakistan. "That'll be a good one as well and we'll need to play well again," Pollock commented. The win over Sri Lanka proved far more stressful than expected as they lose seven wickets in reaching a target of only 121. "I think the guys bowled superbly this morning. It think this morning was make or break in the Test match and we managed to make it. That was an important session. "Obviously there were a few jitters in the batting which wasn't ideal, but it was a pressure situation for us to come through, so in a way it was good," added Pollock. Opposite number Marvan Atapattu said it had been one of the best Test matches he had played in. "We were playing positive cricket because they were one up in the series. In that situation you must put your (best) foot forward," he commented. "This morning our plan was to bat until lunch. Had that happened I would have had other ideas, but we were bowled out. We were definitely looking to set a target." forward. |
