Manxman Mark Cavendish finishes fourth in BBC award
Cavendish reflects on Tour success
Mark Cavendish capped an incredible year in the saddle by picking up fourth place in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year in Sheffield on Sunday night.
The 'Manx Missile' established himself as one of Britain's most successful cyclists of all time in 2009, achieving six stage wins on the Tour de France.
The 24-year-old reflected: "It's been a good year for me. Winning on the Champs Elysees was a dream come true."
Ryan Giggs won the award, with Jenson Button second and Jessica Ennis third.
Another highlight was his victory in the Milan-San Remo Classic earlier in the year.
