See the last ever Footballers' Wives on Sport Relief Saturday July 15 |
It's not every day that you get mistaken for early 90's Yoof TV legend Normski But that's exactly what happened when I spent a surreal day as an extra on the set of a very special Sport Relief mini-episode of TV's Footballers Wives.
In what will be the last ever episode of the kitsch TV drama the girls and boys of Earl's Park football club reunite for one last lavish outing.
The champagne-and-chandelier packed action centres around Graham Norton, who plays the new star signing at Earls Park, and the ladies' efforts to get their claws into him.

A clearly delighted Graham Norton admitted he was a huge fan of the show and was thrilled to be taking part.
"We are having a great laugh - it's not really work is it! I love Footballers Wives and it's truly sad that this will be the last ever episode - well truly sad because I am in it!
"I do feel a little bit honoured and I was getting a bit over-excited when they were taking all the pictures I was like, wow how cool is this?!"
There was just enough time to mingle with the show's stars, Zoe Lucker, Laila Rouass and Sarah Barrand who all looked absolutely stunning in their 2000 designer dresses, before Normski and I were whisked off to wardrobe.

Fans of Ricky Gervais' Extras will be glad to hear that a hearty lunch was served up on a double decker bus - but there was no special treatment for the stars.
I tucked into my steak alongside Ben Hunter who plays uber-bigamist Bruno Milligan, before being taken to a trendy West London restaurant to film our scene.
There was a nervous moment when I thought my big moment might be cruelly snatched away because of the loudness of my shoes.
"You sound like a horse" a non-too-impressed assistant-director hissed before summoning wardrobe to attach some foam to the soles of my shoes.
The comedy moment of the day soon arrived when a flustered crew member thrusted a tray into my arms and grinned: "we are ready for you now Mr Normski."
The fact that TV legend Normski was sporting a massive afro and was about a foot taller than me seemed to have passed him by.
My big moment finally arrived as I played a waiter in a restaurant scene - look out for the bloke collecting plates in the background!

Sport Relief asks people to go the Extra Mile and by the end of filming I clocked up quite a few miles as each scene was shot, and re-shot and shot again from every conceivable angle.
Still there are far worse ways of spending the afternoon than being surrounded by gorgeous women, and Graham Norton.
My feet were delighted when the director announced that it was a wrap for the day and I slumped, exhausted into the nearest available chair.
Watch this special episode of Footballers Wives as part of a fantastic night's entertainment on Sport Relief Saturday July 15th.
