BBC TV summariser Pam Shriver had a distinguished playing career in the 1980s and early 90s.

The American turned professional in 1979 at the age of 17, and won 21 WTA Tour singles titles.

She achieved a career highest ranking of world number three, reached the final of the US Open in 1978, and was a Wimbledon semi-finalist in 1981, 1987 and 1988.

Baltimore-born Pam partnered the legendary Martina Navratilova to five Wimbledon ladies doubles titles, and their victory in the 1992 US Hardcourts Championship was the pair's 79th title.

Pam also won doubles gold with Zena Garrison at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul.
