Mark Cox
Mark Cox
The pinnacle of Mark Cox's playing career came in 1978 when Great Britain reached the final of the Davis Cup against the USA.

Cox had a vital role to play in his team reaching the final; the long-time BBC TV summariser partnered David Lloyd to victory in the deciding semi-finals doubles rubber.

Mark also reached the Wimbledon doubles semi-final in 1966.

In his singles career, he made the quarter-finals of the US Open in 1966, and the Australian Open in 1967 and 1971. He also won 10 singles tournaments between 1970 and 1977.

Leicester-born, he was also runner-up in seven finals, including Queen's in 1977.
