Henman 7-6 6-7 4-6 1-0 Kratochvil
Henman is clearly feeling unwell and receives treatment in between sets. He is given smelling salts for an upset stomach and it seems to work as he holds serve comfortably.

Third set:
Henman 7-6 6-7 4-6 Kratochvil
Kratochvil is now playing with confidence across the court, outhitting Henman from the baseline and outplaying him at the net. A minor blip, a double fault, creates a 30-15 deficit but the 23-year-old hits back to take the third set.

Henman 7-6 6-7 4-5 Kratochvil
The British number one's game looks to have escaped him. He once again struggles with his first serve and a series of errors create a break point which is successfully taken by Kratochvil.

The rain break looks to have held Kratochvil in good stead, the Swiss player levelling the scores in the third set with a glancing backhand volley.

Kratochvil finally makes his own mark on the third set by winning his serve but he is made to work for it around the court by Henman. The difference in class is just beginning to show.

Henman 7-6 6-7 3-0 Kratochvil
With the crowd on his side and a clear lead restored, Henman is playing with far greater venom, climaxing as he smashes the ball into his opponent.

Yet again a break chance arrives, Henman finally making his presence known at the net to lead 40-30. And he ensures that early break following a Kratochvil double fault.

Henman loses just one point as he serves his way into the lead.

Second set:

Henman 7-6 6-6 Kratochvil
It is tie-break time again on Court One as Henman serves to love. And Henman is yet to lose a tie-break at this year's Wimbledon.

Henman 7-6 5-6 Kratochvil
A controversial overrule goes Henman's way and Kratochvil is briefly affected by it, sending an unmissable volley out. It gives Henman the chance to open up another break point but he is wrong footed and the chance again goes begging. An ace eventually gives Kratochvil a second set lead.

An overhit Kratochvil forehand stretches his advantage to 40-15 but Henman once more fails to convert. He wins himself a further opportunity as he caresses the ball down the line but Kratochvil's foray to the net ends that.

Henman 7-6 4-4 Kratochvil
Luck appears to be on the home player's side. The ball ricochets off Henman's racquet when Kratochvil looked to have won point one of this game. Henman finally appears to be growing in confidence out there.

Henman 7-6 3-4 Kratochvil
Frustration shows for Henman when he fails to win points on some attackable Kratochvil serves. He cannot make his returns count, winning just one point in game seven of the set.

Henman 7-6 3-3 Kratochvil

The sunshine makes a rare appearance on Court One and Henman produces his most confident service game to date.

Henman 7-6 0-1 Kratochvil
Henman tries to pile the pressure on his younger rival but Kratochvil wins his serve with relative ease.

First set:
Henman 7-6 (7-5) Kratochvil
Both men suffer a break apiece early on in a tense tie-break, Kratochvil once again double faulting before his stunning whipped forehand makes it 3-3. Henman shows his class to go 5-3 up with a simple mini-break before Kratochvil unleashes arguably the best forehand of the contest to hit back. Henman finally gets himself two set points and makes the second count with a perfectly placed serve.

Henman 6-6 Kratochvil
Kratochvil refuses to be undeterred by the crowd and comes to the net with great effect, a sweet volley and forehand smash typifying his confident approach. A game to love paves the way for the tie-break.

Henman 6-5 Kratochvil
That serving shortfall rubs off on Henman as he opens with a doublt fault. But he makes no more mistakes as he turns the pressure firmly back onto his opponent.

Henman 5-5 Kratochvil
The partisan crowd start to spring to life as Henman picks up another break point, courtesy of a sixth Kratochvil double fault. Double fault number seven levels the score in games.

Henman 4-5 Kratochvil
The British number one shows good reflexes at the net to halt the powerful hitting of Kratochvil and take a 40-0 lead. He briefly stutters at the back of the court before halting his losing streak.

Henman 3-5 Kratochvil
The little-known Swiss player is even beating Henman at his own game of serve and volleying, which leaves Henman serving to stay in the set.

Henman 3-4 Kratochvil
Henman finds himself facing his first break point of the contest as Kratochvil sends a fast serve back with interest, wide of the Henman forehand. The Swiss player then stuns the crowd as he beats the Briton at the net.

Henman 3-3 Kratochvil
A mistake from Kratochvil, who hits the ball into the tram lines, gives Henman his first break point. But that opportunity and two more are scuppered by mishits. Despite two double faults, Kratochvil recovers.

Henman 3-2 Kratochvil
Kratochvil picks at one of Henman's weak points, punishing a less powerful serve with a well-timed backhand down the line. His opponent duly double faults under the pressure but settles, returning to his seat ahead following an ace. But the Briton does not look totally at ease.

Henman 2-2 Kratochvil
The first sign of nerves emerge as Kratochvil double faults but he refuses to be overawed by the crowd and stylishly clocks up a 124mph serve for the game.

Henman 2-1 Kratochvil
The Swiss challenger finds every way possible to pass Henman at the net but the Briton shows sublime touch at the net for the opening point of the game. A Kratochvil pass sees him concede a single point before he heads into the lead once again.

Henman 1-1 Kratochvil
Kratochvil shows he is no slouch on the serve and, despite some attacking play from the British number one, manages to level the scores.

Henman 1-0 Kratochvil
