1604: So it's adios from me and it's adios from umm me as well. That's providing you with a dabble of Rafa Nadal flavour. I may be off but keep across the tweets from
our man Piers Newbery at the O2 or the team from
BBC Radio 5 live. And I'll be back in the live text hotseat for Murray vs Federer tomorrow. Bring it on. Good afternoon. Thank you for your company. Unos pleasuros. (That's my pigeon Spanish in case you are reading Diego). Night.
Piers Newbery on Twitter: "Djokovic beats Berdych 6-3 6-3, not the best match and it's now a long time since Tomas played well. He's looking at three defeats here."
1556: Which leaves me to tell you that it's Nadal v Roddick later. Sky have got that one but live text commentary on the BBC Sport website and BBC Radio 5 live extra from 2000 GMT. And in the mean time, check out the amazing words of
Piers Newbery who is at the O2. Read his
report on Djokovic v Berdych. 1554: More chat from Djokovic as he's told
Diego Maradona was present to watch him. Djoko claps Diego. "Thanks for coming. It's a great honour having you around. When he came in during the middle of the first set, I wondered whether I should play with my legs or my hands." [Referring to his efforts against England in the football World Cup presumably] It gets big cheers anyway. Djoko continues. "I wanted to make him happy and hopefully he will be satisfied with my tennis". No complaints Novak. I think Diego will be happy.
1551: Top drawer cheeky chat from
Djokovic as he reveals he drew a duck on the camera lens after the match. Fair enough. Here are his words. "It was definitely a great start for me. Tomas is always a tricky opponent - he didn't serve well and whenever I could I stepped in on the second serve. It's normal to be nervous on your debut. It's a great crowd. It's one of those tournaments you step on to the court you feel like you belong here. It's a pleasure to play here."
1547: Pretty comfortable huh? Reaction from Novak coming right up.
Berdych 3-6 3-6 Djokovic The pair exchange dropshots and Berdych comes through to make it 15-15. But then it's huge shrieks as Berdych lets an easy one go from the back and it almost hits the ground before it hits the net. "That's almost inexcusable to miss a shot like that" says Tim Henman. Two match points and then Berdych plays his shot of the match with a stunning lob. One point saved. One to go. But Berdych ploughs the return into the net.
DJOKOVIC WINS 6-3 6-3. Berdych 3-6 3-5 *Djokovic Berdych is scrapping all the way. A great return from the back has the crowd finally cheering what has been quite a flat match as Djoko blazes a smash wide of the court. A super-dooper cross-court dropshot gets Djoko back in it to 30-15. I think Djoko wants to win on his serve because he sends a pretty routine forehand long by a few feet. Massive cheers as Berdych fights to live another game. Djoko serving for the match now.
Anonymous, via text 81111: "NOOO I'm missing FRed (see what I did there?) tomorrow! I will be supporting him in spirit though and hoping he brings his error count down sufficiently to defeat Murray. We all know it makes sense. Murray is good but not good enough to beat Federer in full flight. "
Ummm no I didn't see what you did there. Any clues?
Berdych* 3-6 2-5 Djokovic Oh dear again. 13 unforced forehand errors from Berdych and he had such a good chance for the point as well. Djoko has played well this afternoon but Berdo has helped him along the way. "Pretty rank volleying " says Andrew Castle as it's time for Djoko to plonk one below the tape. Deuce time and it's Djoko's turn to find the net. Now or never and time for Berdych to crank it up. How about that? Djoko finally gets a dropshot right and a scampering Berdo has no chance. Game over. A whole row of gleaming teeth are on show from Djoko's bench and they're happy. One game from victory. Get that kettle on. I'm still waiting for those biscuits folks. I'll settle for a jammy dodger. I'm easily pleased.
Berdych 3-6 2-4 *Djokovic Way to go Tomas. He's holding on with his fingernails with a fairly solid service game. Henman blames his poor serving for his poor position in this match. Along with all the shots he's played into the net. That last point was my own own point by the way. Not rocket science was it.
Chris in Edinburgh, via text 81111: "Djoker looking sharp today! Is the Murray v Fed clash scheduled for afternoon or evening session tomorrow?!"
Murray and Federer in action Tuesday afternoon and it's live across the BBC - TV, online, radio....so now you know.
Berdych* 3-6 1-4 Djokovic I think Djokovic is smelling those biscuits. He opens up his body and demolishes the ball across the court to take the game. Tim Henman says: "Djokovic will be keen to keep this up and finish this job off".
elviajeonirico on Twitter: "Group A is pretty dull. Cannot see anyone else than Djoko and Rafa going through to the semis. Roll on Fed-Muzza tomorrow!"
Berdych 3-6 1-3 *Djokovic There's hope. Bring out your biscuits (please) but put that kettle on hold. Berdych takes his service game pretty easily but Djokovic toying with him a little bit like a cat chomping on a mouse's tail. A lacklustre dropshot and Berdo soon takes the game. Is there hope? Mmmm.
NeilHarmanTimes on Twitter: "Djokovic positively purring now. Remarkable how after all those 3 setters last year, we're on course for a third straight-setter in 2010."
Berdych* 3-6 0-3 Djokovic You can pretty much put the kettle on. Djoko is strolling. This may be the season's finale for most of the players but Djokovic might have good reason for playing within himself this week in London because he's got a firecracker of a Davis Cup tie coming up in December between Serbia vs France. Anyone got any biscuits to go with my cup of tea?
jimbogog74 on Twitter: "Well, that first set seem a little too easy. One-way traffic as far as I can see unless Berdo can find his summer form."
Berdych 3-6 0-2 *Djokovic Berdych miraculously gets it back to 30-30 after a smash from about 40 feet in the air that comes flying down and kisses the top of the tape. Nice if he meant to do it. Henman describes Djokovic as a "gazelle" regarding his speed across the court. What animals would the world's top eight players be in the tennis jungle? Familiar pattern in this match and if Berdych doesn't change it, he'll be soon in the locker room pondering what could have been. The ball goes long and Djoko takes another break.

606. Berdych* 3-6 0-1 Djokovic Ooooooh. Djoko looks in control at the net and has an easy smash - a straight one down the middle perhaps? Nope - a wild one that goes long, very long. It's 0-30 and the Berdych fans have something to smile about. But Djokovic turns it around with more mistakes from Berdych. "He can't afford to give any donations at this stage" says
Tim Henman.
*
denotes NEXT to serve Berdych 3-6 *Djokovic A scrappy game but a loose Berdych back-hand gives Djokovic two set points. And the ball limps into the net and it's a mildly noisy applause as Djokovic races back to his chair leading one set up. "Berdych needs to cut out the unenforced errors" says Andrew Castle on BBC Two.
Berdych* 3-5 DjokovicThe crowd are on their feet as Djoko fights for everything from the baseline and Berdych looks stunned as he watches the ball land in the corner for a 40-0 lead. The ball goes long and Djoko clenches his fist and he knows he's sniffing the first set.
Berdych 3-4 *DjokovicBerdych's turn to have a quick service game and it's time for him to unleash another new racquet. I wonder where his old racquets go to? I think I've survived on two racquets in my whole life.
Berdych* 2-4 DjokovicDjokovic races to 40-0 and then plays a half-hearted dropshot into the net. "That's a 40-0 dropshot"
Tim Henman says on BBC Two. Another quick game though. Djoko in total control at the moment. Easing through his service games and making Berdych work his socks off for any joy with his service.
Piers Newbery on Twitter: "Deathly hush in here this afternoon, not helped by Berdych's woeful start. Most shouts are for "Diego!" - he's back after last night."
Berdych 2-3 *DjokovicI think Djokovic is having a breather. He practically hands Berdych the opening two points. Oh dear. Berdych has an easy chance to go 40-15 up and the ball flies shockingly wide. The crowd go quiet in disbelief. No damage done though and Berdych's serve keeps him within touching distance. Don't forget - Nadal v Roddick later. And anybody up for a corker tomorrow? Murray v Federer. Fireworks guaranteed. Enough of that. Any way back for Berdych today?
Berdych* 1-3 DjokovicHas Diego Maradona not got a job or a home to go to? After spending Sunday taking in the Manchester City game at Fulham and some tennis at the O2, the Argentine legend is back for some more action. Djoko goes 40-0 up with the shot of the match so far - a really cute double-handed backhand down the line. That was nice with a capital N. Job done very quickly and Djoko's got back his two-game lead.
Berdych 1-2 *DjokovicDjoko mixing his game up nicely and he takes the first point with an array of defensive shots at the net with Berdych scrambling along the baseline. C'mon Tomas. The O2 crowd do not want an early cup of tea just yet. Another ace gets him out of trouble...for now. 15-30 and 30-30. He's fighting but nothing's working right now. A second break point for Djoko after a clever slashed forehand slice across the net. Djoko has Berdo running all over the shop and he wastes an easy forehand and blows it under the tape. A let-off for Mr Berdych. Deucey-time. Another break point as Berdych hurries his return. Sloppy and he's sweating up like a racehorse already.
I'd love to hear from anybody down at the O2. This is a crucial game and Berdych challenges as the lineswoman gazes up at the screen looking like a woman whose job depends on this decision. She survives. And so does Tomas. 23 minutes gone and the third game goes to Berdych. That was a battle. Good fightback though.
Berdych* 0-2 DjokovicThank the good lordy lord. We have a rally and Djoko weaves the ball around and heads into the net to finish off a smooth first point. It gets to 30-30 and both players have swiftly moved from first gear to fourth and Berdych has a chance but he snuffs it into the net. A let-off for Djoko. A really cute rally though with both picking up some sweet half-volleys. A big serve from the bearded Djoko takes him to advantage but hold on - Berdych has gone into sixth gear (I do admire anything with six forward gears) and it's deuce. Another top drawer rally and it's soon game. Berdych will be kicking himself there.
*
denotes NEXT to serve Berdych 0-1 *DjokovicIt's a wobbly start for Berdych who opens up with a double-fault. Maybe he heard Tim Henman in the BBC studios courtside saying Djokovic had "the edge" as the first set began. What do you reckon? A bit of a curveball of an ace gets him back to 15-30 and another error shows that the Czech number six may be suffering from a few early nerves. And another double-fault hands Djoko the initiative. Messy stuff.

606. Simple.
1406: Up later is our first taste of that cheeky little scamp Rafa Nadal and he plays Andy Roddick. But that's all later. We don't care about all that yet. This afternoon's all about
Djokovic and
Berdych. World number 3 vs number 6. It's a repeat of their
Wimbledon semi-final this year which saw the Czech reign supreme. Berdych is the only player in the Top 10 not to win an ATP World Tour title this season - the other nine have won at least two. It's also Djokovic's fourth appearance at this event (he won it in two years ago) while Berdych is making his tournament debut. So who's your money on folks?
1401: Welcome. With
Andy Murray and
Roger Federer picking up wins on Sunday it is time for Novak Djokovic to wiggle his racquet against Wimbledon finalist Tomas Berdych. Just so you know, I'm in west London a few miles away from the O2 in my Television Centre bunker. For all the latest news from the O2 arena then check out the tweets from
our man Piers Newbery or the team from
BBC Radio 5 live. And there's also live coverage on
BBC Two right now. It's all there for you. On with the action.
1356: It's day two of the ATP World Tour Finals. Anyone up for some tennis?
